New look

I don't know if you have noticed... yesterday afternoon I was changing the look of our blog. I was surfing on the web and I discovered plenty of resources to make it more attractive. Now, I need your opinion...The blog is perhaps so decorated(loud colours, animated gifs,...) that users may get tired and give up participating.

Could you answer any of these questions in order to improve it? Thanks for your time in advance.

  1. Do you like the new voicemail? I haven't used it yet because I haven't got a microphone. I'd really like one of you to try it, otherwise we will never know if it is a good accessory or, on the contrary, it only takes room on the main screen. ( if you leave a message, just do it in English, please). I think it may be fun...

  2. The calendar: the previous one was very sad (do you remember its grey colour?). When I discovered the new one, I decided to insert it in our blog...but now I don't know if the constant movement of the pictures can make people feel visually tired.

  3. Our adopted pet (Txon): As I was having a look at blogosphere, I saw everybody had adopted a pet however, theirs always appears on the main screen. If you remember, ours is on a post in December...nobody can see it, and it's so nice...

  4. The magic board: at the bottom of the screen, I have inserted a wizard who writes the message you want...I loved this idea!

  5. The digital clock: In my opinion the new one is cool, but I am not sure...

Please, leave your opinion truly...You are the only person who can make this blog be special.

Thanks a lot. XXX

Words, words, words...

What about your English vocabulary? Do you want to improve it by playing? Here's a really fun game to play! It will test your vocabulary and make you think fast.

There are 3 different Boggler games for you to choose from. Read the directions and look at the examples. Then choose the game you want to play. To play Boggler, you have 3 minutes to find as many words as possible in a square. All the letters have to be connected. You can go up, down, left, right, or diagonally. Just type your words in the box.

It's your turn! Challenge your friends to a game. Who's the best Boggler player in your class?

If you want to participate in this blog, write three new words you have learnt and their Spanish meaning (post a sentence as an example and you will get the best mark!!). This will be a fun way to learn vocabulary all together!! Enjoy yourself!!

For Harry Potter fans

Do you know how to play Quidditch? Do you know what a "Nimbus 2000" is? If you do, you must be a Harry Potter fan! People around the world are talking about the adventures of Harry Potter, the boy wizard! This a great Harry Potter website! You'll find lots of trivia games and word games to play. Click here: http://towerofenglish.com/harrypottergames.html

When you finish, don't forget to post a commentary expressing your opinion. Thanks a lot!!

A trip to London

Hi, boys and girls!! As I already told you, your English teachers spent an amazing long weekend in London. We last went there a long time ago (when we were attending university) and we wanted to experience the sensation of being in this wonderful capital again. As I announced, I'm going to post some pictures of our trip. I hope you'll enjoy them just as we did. By the way*, would you like to visit London on line? As we are also beginning with a new unit on Future Tenses in 1st Bachillerato, let's practise a little bit with differently levelled exercises. You can find not only future tenses, but also overview present and past ones. Look into the ball and ... enjoy yourself!!

Make your influence positive

The teacher, Carlos Díez, has sent this interesting video. We want to share it with you because we consider it as the perfect excuse to think about the influence of adults on children (parents, teachers, older sisters/brothers). What’s your opinion? Do you agree with it?
